  Kundigheid Bastiaan was vanaf 1995 tot 1998 'n staatsaanklaer wat hoofsaaklik in die streekhof aangekla het. Hy het hoë profiel sake soos, verkragting, moord, ontvoering, diefstal en bedrog hanteer. Die vervolgingsproses het bestaan uit skakeling met die SA Polisiediens en toesighouding oor die insamel van bewyse tot op die stadium dat die saak voor die hof gebring kon word. Verdere pligte het behels dat hy met getuies moes konsulteer sodat hulle vir die hofsaak voorberei kon word. Dit het kennis van strafreg, strafprosesreg en bewysreg geverg. In 1998 het hy na die ander kant gespring deur sy klerkskap te voltooi en homself as prokureur te kwalifiseer, Hy fokus hoofsaaklik op strafreg maar het stelselmatig ook ondervinding op die gebied van siviele reg, arbeidsdispute, skuldinvordering en skuldadministrasie opgedoen. Hy het later sy eie praktyk behartig wat hoofsaaklik op skuldadministrasie gefokus het. Hy is tans besig om hom as aktebesorger ook te kwalifiseer maar sien daarna uit om sy vaardighede in sy nuwe belangstelling, naamlik forensiese rekenmeesterskap, aan te wend. Expertise  
    Bastiaan was a public prosecutor mainly in the Regional Court during 1995 to 1998. He prosecuted high profile crimes like rape, murder, abduction, theft and fraud. The prosecution process consists of liaison with the SA Police service and monitoring of the case with regard to the gathering of evidence up to the stage where it is presented in a court. His further duties were to consult with state witnesses and get them to present their evidence in court. He had to present each case in a logical manner to the court to enable the court to convict the accused. This duty includes knowledge of the criminal law, the criminal procedure law as well as the law of evidence. He jumped the fence in 1998 and completed his articles to become an attorney during 2001. He mainly focused on criminal law but systematically got acquainted with various sections of the law practise with reference to civil litigation, labour law disputes, debt collection and debt administration. He later ran his own practice that focused mainly on debt administration, which is a form of liquidation/sequestration for minor debts. He is currently busy qualifying himself as a conveyancer, but is looking forward to applying his skills in the challenging arena of forensic accountancy.

  Kundigheid Philip begin sy loopbaan in 1983 as 'n ekonoom by die Suid-Afrikaanse Landbou-unie maar aanvaar vier jaar later 'n betrekking as landbou-ekonoom by Vrystaat Koöperasie. Hy was daarna ook Finansiële Bestuurder van 'n boerdery-maatskappy in die Paarl voordat hy in 1991 sy eie rekenmeesterspraktyk op Bethlehem begin het. Hy was tussenin ook betrokke by die ontwikkeling van korrespondensiekursusse vir boere oor rekordhouding, belasting en bemarking en was ook deeltydse lektor in Bestuur by 'n tegniese kollege. Hy was verder ook 'n voog by 'n technikon vir 'n vak oor rekenaarsagteware vir boerderye. 

Buiten die totale rekordhoudingsfunksie vir boerderye van sy rekeningmeesters-praktyk, dek sy landbou advies en konsultasie ook onderwerpe oor boedelbeplanning en erfopvolging, boerderybestuur, meganisasiebestuur, vertakkingsbegrotings, kontantvloeibegrotings, landbou-ekonomiese vergelykings en die interpretasie van finansiële state. Hy was ook al by verskeie dispute tussen boere en insetverskaffers en boere onderling betrokke waar hy 'n deskundige opinie moes gee. 

Hy is ook 'n vryskut landboujoernalis en het al verskeie rubrieke in al die vernaamste landboutydskrifte van Suid-Afrika behartig. In 1993 is hy aangewys as Suid-Afrika se landboujoernalis van die jaar. In 2001 is sy artikel: "Wanneer moet 'n boer halt roep?" as beste artikel aangewys wat in SA Graan verskyn het. Hy het ook al by verskeie landbougeleenthede as gasspreker opgetree. 

Sy betrokkenheid by die landbou word ook weerspieel in sy nagraadse navorsing met 'n honneursveldstudie getiteld "Ondersoek na die knelpunte in die finansiering van beginnerboere", 'n meestersverhandeling getiteld "Die doeltreffendheid van landboukoöperasies in Suid-afrika as kanaal vir die verskaffing van produksiekrediet" en 'n dokterstesis met die titel "Finansiële norme vir 'n gemengde boerdery in die Oos-Vrystaat". 

 Expertise  
    Philip started his career in 1983 as an economist at the South African Agriculture Union but accepted an appointment as agricultural economist four years later at Free State Co-operative. He was also Financial Manager at a farming company in Paarl before he started his own accounting practise in 1991 in Bethlehem. In between he was also involved with the development of correspondence courses for farmers on record keeping, tax and marketing and was also a part-time lecturer in Management at a technical college. He was also a tutor at a technicon for a subject on computer software for farmers. 

Apart from the total accounting function his practise provides for farmers, his agricultural advice and consultancy covers topics like estate planning and succession, farm management, machinery management, enterprise analysis, cash flow budgets, agricultural economic comparisons and the interpretation of financial statements. He was also involved in several disputes between farmers and suppliers and amongst farmers themselves where he was needed to express an expert opinion. 

He is also a part-time agricultural journalist and was responsible for several regular articles in most of the agricultural magazines in South Africa. He was appointed as agricultural journalist of the year in 1993 and in 2001, his article: "When must a farmer stop?" was appointed as the best article that was published in SA Grain. He also appeared as a guest speaker at several agricultural functions during his career. 

His involvement in agriculture is also reflected in his post graduate research with a honours study titled "Investigating the restraints of financing beginner farmers", a masters dissertation titled "The effectiveness of agricultural co-operatives in providing production credit" and the a doctoral thesis titled "Financial norms for a mixed farming enterprise in the Eastern Free State".
